I chose "E.L.F, MAC on driving growth through inclusivity- and tips for others.", by Marketing Dive. I'm interested in this article because I use products from both these brands and inclusivity has been a major issue for the makeup industry. This article was about how beauty need to cater towards every customer. It's important to have everyone in your company on the same team and working towards being inclusive towards everyone. Diversity can drive value and make customers feel seen and taken care of. E.L.Fs Value Proposition is " Inclusivity is not optional. Its fundamental, and our entire business is based on that. One way MAC is keeping their marketing relevnt is by launching a campaign called " I only wear MAC" underscoring their commitment to diversity by showing a range of products on a range of people from Doja Cat to Kris Jenner. The challenge these brands are facing is they need to continue to make their brands more inclusive and cater to larger groups of people. What makes these brands marketing approaches unique is that most other brands dont have enough shades and colors and focus more on smaller more direct groups instead of everyone. E.L.F also has no D.E.I department which I think is really good for the company because it sets them apart and allows the whole company to be cohesive. I agree that brands need to have more shade ranges and products for differnt textues of skin but i think all brands are trying to get to this point and they all have the same end goal which is for their customers to be satisfied and come back. All these brands are already doing a good job of this but I think its also really important to rememer to expand the amount of different products their producing. Adding shade range to enhance inclusivity is really important I just think to stand out and get people talking about their brands they should be introducing new and eciting things their customers havnt already seen a million times. If I was the manager of either of these companies I would continue to produce more products in more shades, different textures, that are new, etc. I also think it would be really important to get feedback from the public and ask what they wanna see from our brand and do our best to satisfy everyone. Through reading this article I learned how much diversity drives up slaes and brings new audiences to companies. I also learned how little other brands care to cator towards inclusivity.
